8GB D2 Is There Such A Thing?

Hi i did a search and couldn't find any info regarding an 8GB D2, with much interest in SDHC cards i was wonderinng if its better to just have a larger internal memory, then add a SDHC card to it

So does an 8GB D2 exist if not will one in the near future?

there is no such thing at the moment, and I don't expect one any time soon. It was only a few months ago that Cowon actually began producing 4gb players of any kind. So it'll still be a while. Cowon doesn't necessarily have the same money that Apple, Samsung, Creative, and Sandisk have.

well 4 + 4 is 8, so theoretically, yes.

but why not 12. or 20?

(and, if they did come out with an 8gb, and 32gb sdhc cards ever hit the market and work, :o)

Hey, stick in a 4GB SD card, and there you have it, 8GB... you could even get 12 (I think it works) using one of these: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...725&CatId=2413

Wow that's expensive for a 8gb Class 2 sdhc....

You can get a 8gb Class 4 sdhc on newegg for half that price.

Id bet anything a 8gb D2 will be out in next 6 months, Cowon are competing with the Iriver clix2 and that will have it

There is basically no need to make 8gb players since it supports sdhc cards. In like year we'll be able to buy16gb sdhc cards for like 50$ or a bit more, so making big built-in memory isn't so smart, especially that samsung is not willing to sell it to Cowon

Cowon already have it's HDD MP3 players, that's why I'm doubting they'd produce larger on-board capacity versions.

True if battery life doesnt matter, internal V sd card is double battery life

Thanks for the replies

An D2 8GB would have its advantages, battery life, faster access (boot), 8+8SD=16GBcap

thats a good amount and personally i wouldn't (shouldn't) need more than that for my player.

I was hoping for an 8GB flash player and setted for the D2 4GB as it gives expandable memory options

a very nice unit BTW.

I most likely go for a 8GB card to compliment the D2 but will probably wait until the compatibility issues are sorted out, shouldn't be to long now
