Default Troubles with the sound : no sound !

Hi everyone !

I'm having some sound troubles with my Cowon S9 ; there is no sound anymore !

Shall I try a hard reset, or directly something like TccTool ?

Thanks, everybody !

Well, I don't consider you dumb, but there are some simple reasons you should check:
Do the headphones work with other devices? (You could also try to bend the cable a little bit at different positions, maybe the it is damaged)
Have you cleaned the cable socket?
Are you music files broken?
Is the volume turned down?

If you find no solution after checking this, then it might be something worse.

Of course I've checked all of these points

Headphones : working
Socket : cleared
Music files : normal
Volume : all the way up !!

No mute, no other crappy stuff !

So ... Something worse ?

Maybe there's something broken inside the player... a loose cable near the socket or something like that.
It also might be a firmware problem or some kind of that. You should try to reinstall the firmware to see if it works.

Firmware 2.53 re-installed !

Maybe a kind of hard reset ? Or TccTool ?
hope it's only firmware !

Well, I don't know nothing about TccTool, so I can't help you there :/
But I wish you good luck with your problem

AFAIK, Tcctool just force-installs the firmware in case you can't open your player the usual way in Windows (using Windows Explorer), so the result won't be different from a normal firmware re-installation.

your headphone socket may have come loose somehow. repairing it is somewhat easy for some if you've soldered before that is. this isn't a software issue. it's a hardware issue sadly

Hmmm !!

Don't you think that some pbs may appear because of custom UIs ?

not saying it's impossible but from of the amount of UIs i have tested/used i haven't come up with such an issue and this is highly unlikely the case. believe me it's hardware if anything

Out of curiosity, what UCI(s) did you use before that happened?

Anyway, I agree with WAI, it's probably a hardware issue.

I can't remember the name. I've installed it when I bought the S9, 2 or 3 years ago !

Maybe something like "Jet ..." or beginng with a J !

Anyway, I'd like to thank you Kizu, with WAI and Eumldeuml for replying me !!

Oh, haha, okay. I guess that disqualifies the chance that a UCI causes the problem.
