Default error trying to put files onto external card

I put maybe 2,000 or so files on the 64gb microcard so far.... and when i try to add any more files it says 'cannot remove or rename folder.... parameter is incorrect... or something like that. Has this happened to anyone?

Makes no sense. COPY has nothing to do with delete or rename. Did you accidentally do something strange with the keyboard or mouse??

Are you writing to the card while it is still inserted in that SD card reader you found that enabled you to FORMAT it? You're not trying to write to it while it's inserted in the J3 itself, are you?

What method are you using to copy the folders/files from your PC to the card? Something simple like Windows Explorer or similar file manager (e.g. Free Commander), or some other approach (e.g. MediaMonkey or some other "intrusive" utility)?

When you run DISKMGMT.MSC, what does it show about the capacity of the card, both its max size as well as how much is currently in use?

Ah, I was transferring the files while the card was in the j3. I was able to put many files on it that way..but i guess its reached a limit. I guess i should just use the reader then?

Most likely the card is now corrupted and has a reduced capacity of around half the original capacity. So you will have to reformat and transfer all the files again.

Avoid writing to the external card while inside the J3. Otherwise it will become corrupted again. Every time!

This is a known problem with memory cards larger than the standard maximum of 32 GB.

Use the card reader! Then you can format to 64 GB and use the full capacity. Well, around 59 GB anyway.
