Default Latest i got..

Hi,

Also waiting on the Q5W, but got my info directly from Cowon.
Because we're still waiting or a review sample promised us in March.
(No, can't tell where i work for.. I'm not even supposed to post on any boards.. But since we're all waiting this long..)

Dear Mr. ****,

I wish you luck that you will receive a COWON Q5W sample soon.
Today, I received news from Korea that the COWON Q5W will be shipped on November 18th which means that the player should be available end of November.

Kind regards
****

Unfortunately no, The Netherlands.
But to my understanding it should ship worldwide November 18th.

(Previously Cowon Korea was supposed to ship directly to reviewers, but now we have to wait until it get's to the local Cowon offices and distributors.. -Possibly to avoid customs problems, etc-)

So it should be available for regular customers at the same time.

just curious, and please, no offence intended, but why are you still hanging around posting about this thing if you're so over it?

just curious.

Unless my math is terribly off, that appears to translate into US$950 for the 40GB version. Unless they somehow price the Q5 differently for the dedicated US market.

Ouch.

Using http://www.xe.com/ucc/ the 60GB version converts to $1,025.72, the 40GB comes in at $952.35; BUT the 20GB X5L on that same webpage (which is what I have) is priced at $410.86 which is over twice what I paid for it on newegg almost 2 years ago. So 3 things could be going on here:
1) The website I'm using to convert currency is wrong
2) mp3-player.de is WAY overpriced or
3) pricing is way different in Europe then the US.

Considering that Cowon is in Korea, I can't see how pricing between Europe and the US would be that different unless it has something to do with taxes or tariffs.

That website is expensive even for european standards. However European price are above the US one, not only because of the weak dollar. I personally think the US price will be around 700/750$.

Right, that's why I was questioning a price tag which appeared almost twice that amount.

I can't believe we're talking about pricing again. European prices never translate dollar for euro. Most of the time, $ = euro with PMPs. So, 600euro will be $600.
