Hi,
I looked on the Korean website of iAUDIO and saw that they have a new firmware for the i4. Can anybody tell me the new features/bugfixes? Does anyone have any experiences yet (especially with the OGG supporting firmware)? Thanks ![]() Jan |

Just checked version 1.70 beta 1. Can't tell you about bugfixes but there are a few new features. For example there is "playspeed" now in the jeteffectmenu. It's a kind of pitchcontrol. In Displaymenu there is " Taglanguage" etc etc.
Why don't you just check it out for yourself? |

Because I wanna know if it's worth it to change my firmware from the well working 1.63 to the 1.70 beta 1.

I have tested it for a few hours now. Works fine. BTW you can always go back to other earlier firmware version. |

Hi!
I'm a newbie to this website (found it when looking for newer firmware for my iAudio4, currently on v1.60). I've had it now since August 2004 and am very happy with it! Apologies if this is answered elsewhere but I've a few questions about the new firmware revisions out: - the above 2.63.1 firmware - does this allow OGG encoding or just decoding? - the 1.70 Korean firmware - does it allow you to select English as a language, also - what is different between 1.63 and 1.70? - do any of the new firmwares allow greater than 128kbit/sec encoding? Thanks in advance! Glad to see there's a dedicated website to iAudio that's updated a bit more than iaudio.com itself! ![]() |

I owned an I4 once and I think there was an official firmware which supported Ogg-Playback. As far as I remember the Ogg-Playback needed a lot of processing power and caused slow navigation. But I think Cowon made it possible for the I4!

I've just bought a second-hand iAUDIO 4! Yes, well behind the curve ...
But it's great! [The only weakness is the 128kbit encoder ]Anyway, does anybody know where I can download this 1.70 beta version. (I have 1.63 already, but am hoping that 1.70 may have a better encoder version ... ).The old link to a Korean site is gone, methinks? Anybody know where it is, or can upload one to Rapidshare? I'll be really grateful ...! ANYWAY, REGARDS TO ALL OF YOU WHO STILL ENJOY AND SUPPORT THE IAUDIO4 - it was a credit to Cowon! Regards, iAudio4-user. |

![]() Anyway, thanks for your time in telling me; I had given up on finding something, to be honest. Hope that you enjoy (or did enjoy) the iAudio4 - it certainly has persuaded me to look at a newer Cowon model for my next purchase (rather than an Ipod ..). Regards, And thanks again. iAudio4-er. ![]() |
