I do not know if this will work with WMP11, but you could try uninstalling it with "RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection C:\windows\inf\wmp.inf,Uninstall" command.
Then try installing WMP10.
You could also try reinstalling SP2 for XP.
IMHO, you are about out of things to try...
Edit 1: Here is the uninstall string from the Registry Hash for Add or Remove programs:
WMP:
"C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\Setup_wm.exe" /Uninstall
Windows Media Player 11:
"C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallwmp11$\spuninst\spuninst.e xe"
Windows Media Format 11 runtime:
"C:\WINDOWS\$NtUninstallWMFDist11$\spuninst\spunin st.exe"
You could check and see if they are present or even try running them, if the files are present.
EDIT 2:
Look in C:\Windows and check for these 2 hidden folders:
$NtUninstallwmp11$
$NtUninstallWMFDist11$
If they are not present you can not uninstall WMP11 or Windows Media Format 11 runtime and rollback to WMP10
