Yes, there are several good reasons to get a Cowon product instead and if you can wait, then that is good.

But for people like me who need to have the latest of the latest product - and want a full Windows XP PC on my pocket, the VEGA is absolutely perfect (at the moment).

People say the new 'VEGA2' will be much slimmer (25mm), feature Windows Vista with a nVidia 3D Accelarator - this will enable the VEGA to finally play 3D games and it will have a design optimized for gameplay.

'Obviously it wont play the latest DirectX10 power games but you will be able to play relativelty simple 3D games or applications like Battlefield 1942 / Call of Duty or Google Earth at a reasonable speed.

It will be certainly a big step forward for UPPCs - battery life is expected to be increased to 7 hours and the device will features a 4400mAh lithium POLYMER battery instead.

The CPU will be replaced with an AMD NX series CPU with either 1 or 1.2Ghz - it is based on the AMD Athlon XP platform and features SSE command support and three times more L2 cache than the LX series.

RAM will be obviously doubled to 1GB and hard drive will be replaced with the new Samsung 60GB 1.8inch HDD, with an increased buffer cache of 8MB.

The screen size is unknown but is probably going to feature XGA resolution and/or 4.5~5inch screen size.

But one thing for sure is that now that I have experienced UPPC, I never want to go back using a PMP.
