Using UCIs - even if completely incompatible - won't cause serious issues. The worst thing that could happen is that your player freezes, and that can be fixed easily using the reset hole. :)

The X9 seems to use the same generic firmware as the S9, J3, X7, C2 and D20 - all of them only show the left battery in 25% steps, i.e. 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%, 0%. There's no way to change that.
