Cowon just posted some news about a new product, the Cowon EM1.


The Cowon EM1 come in two versions: One with controls and a microphone, and a version without these extras.

Prices:
- The regular version costs 21,900 KRW which is about 20 US$ / 15 €.
- The other version with microphone and controls costs 29,000 KRW = 27 US$ / 20 €.

Interesting...The color schemes remind me of the D2's color schemes♥

I might be interested in a set or 2,...

Probably not the best time to enter into the earphone market... Most price points are covered, and I'm not sure these have anything unique to offer.

What we need is a successor to the J3 or D3 that actually works exceptionally well. EX: The Pantech Burst is $160, runs Android on a 4" Super OLED screen with a 1.5Ghz dual core processor and 1Gb of RAM... Why can't Cowon create something based on that with BBE put on it, along with a quality Wolfson DAC? Get incredible battery life after removing the cellular amps and antennae.

Yeah! I'm waiting for something to replace my old S9... the power-seifch has been removed and I'm currently using the metal-part only (for about a month or so) so I don't think I can wait for much longer before I need to replace my S9 and I really want to keep on using a mp3 from COWON, even thou I already own a iPhone 4 for two years since 20th December :/

Same thing happened to my S9. It got real annoying so I bought I used D2 off someone else. Still though, I hope COWON comes through and creates something awesome. Otherwise my next smartphone will probably also be my dedicated music player :jamming:

they have to, the phone people are catching up.

Dont even try them. I got mine about half an hour ago from exportprive.
They sound horrible... Lots of hissing noise and not enough punchy bass. ATh-sj5 sounds like sweet heaven after 10 minutes of this torture.
The ear-tips are getting dirty very easily (only 30 minutes has passed).

One thing good about them, they look nice and cable is flat, doesn't get tangled.

I almost ordered a set of these yesterday! Really that bad, huh? I am a little surprised, honestly.

Well, Blackberry 9900 with ATh-Sj5 sounds much better than this EM1 with my D2 :(
If I try them with blackberry, it is a huge fail... And I paid ~ €24 euro for that :/

Stock earbuds sound better to me. Strangely, I did not find any bad reviews on the web about them before ordering. I wonder why they are so bad, it cant be a fake one, right? I mean, who would fake Cowon... and it was shipped from South Korea anyways. On earphones its written that they are made in China, but usually it is always like that.

I wondered this also, but I really doubt it's a fake. It seems like it would be way too hard to make any money faking Cowon buds of all things.
Sounds like I really dodged a bullet then...

If these were ordered from Exportprive they're real. They just sound crappy,...and I wanted these.
