"Fancy & Bass Boosting Earphones" - Cowon EF1
Looks like this summer is Cowon's time of announcements - after the X9's more or less disappointing revelation, Cowon today announced their new earphones, the Cowon EF1.

It has a weird shape.
|
Yea they kinda look rounded and wouldn't look like they'd fit into my ears.
|
Warped iBuds,...yuk!!!
|
I had the CE1's for a while (After my CX300's broke I bought them for $10 dollars on sale).
They were awesome, except they were flimsy and broke after a couple months. If I get a chance to get this cheap, I'll let you guys know how they sound. |
Cowon should try to launch a higher-end line of headphones. Eventually backed by some K-POP artists.
Also got the CE-1 for very cheap, they were not too shabby. |
What Cowon should do is buy a company that has no clue in how to distribute earbuds and iems like Sunrise who make the excellent AS-Charms earbuds and SW-Xcape IEM's - both of which are 150 ohm @ $80 a pop (they have two even cheaper earbuds as well) That company needs help and Cowon seems the group to maybe get it to help each other out. Sunrise currently only has distribution channels through eBay and a guy in Canada. I have no clue who Cowon is running their production line through aka rebranded as theirs for these earbuds. Or if this is theirs, they need to build a better portfolio through maybe outsourcing through others, these current releases have been... questionable.

It seems to me that any change for included buds from cowon could possibly be better than the current included buds, as they suck big time. So any change from cowon is welcome IMO, hopefully they'll be better. Personally I use the included buds from cowon & sandisk to make things like this, this and other mods ...
I say lets wait and judge them once they come out *rolleyes* |
Sadly, those earbuds will not be included in their players - just like the Cowon CE1.
|
Personally, if a company ever bundles earphones with a DAP, I think the only logical choice would be the Ultimate Ears Personal Reference Monitor:
http://www.logitech.com/en-us/ue/cus...rence-monitors This would ensure the earphone sounded 'the best' to everyone who used it. Oh, and it adds $2000 to the cost. |
