I actually answered my own question with a little more research. I didn't know about the MTP mode on Cowons because my first device was the Z2, which runs on android, and I'm fairly sure it doesn't have this feature -- never needed it (the Z2 has it's own set of pros and annoying shortcomings).

I wish someone would finally release a high quality sound MP3 player with a vast amount of space to easily accommodate a large library of songs. Never understood devices that were made for playing flac/wav/ogg etc but don't have the space for managing these files.

Last question, does putting the device in MTP mode take away the portability of the device?

Darkside, you mentioned in the recent D20 thread that you were going to use "playlists and MTP" to get around the file limit on this device. Would you be kind enough to post a little more details about this? I'm interested in buying a D20 but would like a workaround for the limit that doesn't require a custom IU like Rockbox.
