I've been looking at the X7 for about a year now and have finally decided to take the plunge, although the A5 with wi fi sounds good. It's the huge storage of the X7 that really appeals.
Must say I've been a bit worried about all the poor reviews but I'm hoping that these are from people who have even less idea than me on computers.
So unless anyone can persuade me otherwise its an X7 on order in the next day or so.
Couple of questions I would like to ask those who know a heck of a lot more than me...

Is there any more unreliability problems with the 160GB than with the 120GB?

I think, having read many of the threads on here, I'll use Kizunes three UI programmes Lynx Sense & Leaf.. Are these easy to add to the machine and do I need to get them on BEFORE I start loading music?

People rave about rearth ringke , but Its my personal opinion that the rearth ringke case takes away all the sophistication of the player, its like putting a translucent condom over the player.
Instead i would like to add a full body protector or even a silicon case, that can flaunt the front body bezel and the sexy edges of the player.
Has anyone tried the full body protector film? I use wrapsol over my iphone now on android, and am good at applying protector.

Also where can i find the full body protector or the silicon case in the US. Most of the sellers on ebay or exportprive will take 15 days to ship. If I put a .nomedia file in the podcasts folder then they simply do not show up. Without one, as they are in mp3 format they normally just get included in the music library.

There appears to be no option to select which folders to use a music library and the D3 just selects all mp3s.
I have then tagged as genre Podcast but that is simply for me to find them by genre rather than name.

The stock player is relatively simple and can't see how to do it there but Poweramp has a number of folder options which only show the microsd card and not the folders on that card.

I originally backed up the files off of the original drive but my hard drive crashed and I lost everything.

So, can anyone upload a copy of their X7's hard drive files minus the music? hulkshare, mediafire or sendspace?

because right now I can't get it to boot past the first screen, unless anyone knows of a recovery mode I can boot into. Finally got my videos to work on the J3 Using First DVFAB then into VOB Merge then into Super S and finally Cowon's Media Center. Everything works fine now except for the volume output which you can hardly hear without the aid of a booster.
Is there something I can adjust in one of these programmes to improve the volume quality.

1. I have "lost" the album view when I rotate the player 90 degrees ! Whne playing a track if I turned the player 90 degrees I could see all my albums. Not any longer.....what have I done ???
2. When paying tracks, I have the screen that goes off after a shoirt period of time. This is fine bu I would like that when a new trcak is played I would like the screen to come on for say, 5-6 secs or so and then go off. Is this possible ???

3. I have a few compilation albums. When I hit the left poiting arrow, it shows me all the tracks on the album. Without stoppping track playing, is there a way to see who the artist is on another track on the album ???

4. I have noticed that I need to tidy up some of the tagging. Do I need to do somthing different if tracks are on an 32GB SD card ??? Don't think so based upon my experiuement with one album on the SD card but thought I would check again !

5. Size of font ! I also struggle with the size of the main items on the screen, such as volume level, etc. This is not affected by the pinch and enlarge. Any ideas to help my old and tired eyes ???

I am sure that the above are solvable to experienced users and I hope that you can share your experiences......

Still don't know all the functions on the player, some of the icons seem strange !!

Overall, been very pleased with the sound quality and battery life. Am using a EQ that I saw on the BBE settings topic. I will need to paly as some of the older tracks need a slightly different EQ to the more modern tracks !!

6. Is there a review about what the EQ functions are, such as whether to play with which frequency, whether to be wide, narrow, etc. ??
