"We are getting M5/X5 in may or june.
so.. not any time soon =("
---------------
...so much for march, huh?
if that's the case, I feel bad for people waiting for it...
Lets hope that they are taking the time to do it right instead of releasing buggy product early

Hmm.... what can we do, but wait. Hopefully the players will be awesome when they come out.
You asked the Ebay representative, so he must be saying that the player will show up on Ebay in May/June.
I've also heard May from a reputable source.
A certain retailer who also said that the model has been postponed again and again from "day one".
we know that too, but how does he/she know that it will be May?
I've heard from the JetAudio representative that it would be March or April.
"I've heard from the JetAudio representative that it would be March or April."
You go with that then.
Who do we e-mail at jetaudio, I want to know how set in stone that date is.
I e-mailed the representative that was at CES for iAudio and I think he will be at CeBit as well.
He replied to me today, saying that the X5 will launch in March, since it will be displayed at CeBit. But due to additional work, it may launch a month after Korea's release.
you can always e-mail tech_support@jetaudio.com, though they are rather slow :(
But I really want to know about the M5L, and I want to know how definate these figures are, I don't think the people at jetaudio really know to well, besides I've already e-mailed them a few times a while ago.
Why does it take so long to release in the US? Can't the korean version display english anyways? What difference are there between the two?
I dont know... Can you use a korean iAudio on an English OS? I've wondered this for a while, and I wasn't sure. I could get it when it comes out in Korea.
Gonna need a converter for the AC adapter though... Damn the different voltage system.
I also heard that the release for Korea and the US are same... but maybe this is a different case.
Yeah I got confirmation that they are delayed from Jetaudio. I was thinking about it and now I am actually willing to wait. I have a Nw-hd3 on order, but that was a mistake and it will be sold as soon as I get it. Hopefully Iaudio will not dissappoint.
Whod you talk to?
The JetAudio rep i talked to say March/April.
Just some anonymous jetaudio employee. Here's the message:
Dear customer,
Thanks for your interests in jetaudio.
M5 will be released sometime in May/June. We do not have release date for X5. Please check back with us in the near future.
Thanks
Regards,
Jetaudio Inc.
Oh.... I talked to the guy who represented iAudio at CES... so I'm not sure.
Just wait till it is released in Korea and ad 1 to 2 months ...
But when will it be released in Korea? That beith the question.

Wait until the end of March and then we'll have a better idea. It's only a month or so now.
I dont know... Can you use a korean iAudio on an English OS? I've wondered this for a while, and I wasn't sure. I could get it when it comes out in Korea.
I imagine they're very similar and both I'd imagine are dual voltage. It would be dumb for a "portable" device not to be in this day and age.
I'm sure you could set a Korean iAudio device to output in English.
Gonna need a converter for the AC adapter though... Damn the different voltage system.
Well you can blame the Americans (in the literal sense of the word) for being awkward :D
Well who got electricity first?
Mind you, even the Microsoft encyclopaedia says one thing in the US and another in the UK about who invented electricity... everyone thinks they did it! Heck, I was taught that color TV was invented by a Mexican (I'm from mexico, by the way).
"Mind you, even the Microsoft encyclopaedia says one thing in the US and another in the UK about who invented electricity"
Nobody invented electricity: it's a natural phenomenon. Electricity's power was harnessed and put to use by all kinds of good people.
Yeah most things in life are uncovered, not invented.
I meant who started using it as a mainstream energy source first.

Technically electricity wasn't "invented" - just harnessed.

Well who got electricity first?
Who got the English language first, what's your point?
Mind you, even the Microsoft encyclopaedia says one thing in the US and another in the UK about who invented electricity...
That's the same with many things. The events are twisted to not offend anyone.
Which is a load of rubbish if you ask me.

And thus speaks the voice of second-rateness. London has attracted so much dross these days. One can only hope that the next recession clears them out for good. Meanwhile, they live in their shabby rented apartments, hang onto their 'jobs' by the skin of their teeth, and lie to their long-suffering parents about their dismal prospects.
En-route to iAudio? Via yet another binge on his debt-laden credit cards.
Oh, and there is nothing 'technical' about it. Obviously, yet one more thing he doesn't really get.

e-mailed allot of stores. most said they don't know, but www.advancedmp3players.co.uk replied with "Probably in 6-8 weeks."

Ahhh, recessions - Don't you just love 'em
I'm suprised you remember the last one - were you out of short trousers ?
As for rented - Let's hope not, as a Landlord I love my tenents ;)
And long suffering parents - "pot kettle, black calling the " - please feel free to re-arrange.
BTW, you were right about the credit cards ;)

got some more replies, all but one said they don't know. www.mp3-player.de said "we hope to get the unit in April."
I thought Thomas Edison generally got the credit for harnessing electricity and inventing the lightbulb etc...? He was born in Ohio. :)

Michael Faraday first harnessed electricity in 1831 by means of motion in a magnetic field. Forty years later, Thomas Edison and Joseph Swan invented the incandescent filament lamp.
Michael Faraday 1791-1867
English bookbinder who became interested in electricity. He obtained an assistantship in Davy's lab, then began to conduct his own experiments. He wrote a review article on current views about electricity and magnetism in 1821, for which he reproduced Oersted's experiment.
Hans Orsted 1777-1851
Danish physicist and philosopher who, in 1819, discovered the deflection of a compass needle while performing a demonstration for his students. This discovery of a fundamental connection between electricity and magnetism rocked the scientific community and led to a flurry of activity in electrodynamic research.
There we go, settled once and for all :)

Faraday was born in Newington Butts (near London) a long, long way away from Ohio :D
But who established as a normal energy source? Whoever did that first would be the normal one. If europe used it first then the US uses an abnormal electrical outlet, and visa versa. It doesn't matter who discovered it first.
I thought Thomas Edison generally got the credit for harnessing electricity and inventing the lightbulb etc...? He was born in Ohio. :)
Joseph Swan did it in the UK at the same time - but didnt have the PR men that are freely available in the U.S. after all - if the yanks DIDN'T invent something they say they did anyway. They claim to have done many things they had no involvement in - even making bloody films of how they did it ! Remember U-571 ? The movie about how brave and daring Yank sailors got the German Enigma encoding device ? Only it was the Royal Navy and BRITISH sailors (the one that actually went down to get the device was from 2 miles from where I live) and the American Navy was an ocean away !
But who established as a normal energy source?.
God, wasnt it ?: And he wasnt born in Ohio no matter what Hollywood says ! :D
But Tesla invented AC and sold it to Westinghouse. When was the last time you saw a DC wall socket (like Edison, and I guess Swan, supported).

Yep. It was indeed. And Edison pulled some ugly strokes to try to get rid of the competitor, didnt he ?

Getting back to the electricity point, the adapter should work on all worldwide voltages - many modern ones do, and I seem to remember that the M3's adaptor worked everywhere. You just need a basic plug adaptor to change from the primitive 2 pin the plebs of the world use to our glorious 3-pin system ;)
so you do need some kind of adapter to use the charger in the US? if so that sucks, i mean i can easily deal with that, but i would rather have it just work out of the box..
Depends on where you buy it, if you buy it from a US online store it will use a US type adaptor, and same with an european store, the players are regionalized for sale.

Luigi Galvani in 1783 assembled a wet-cell from two strips of dissimilar metal and some frog-juice and created the first electric battery to power a pair of dead frog's legs and make them jump :D
Sounds like a darn good first practical use of "harnessed" electricity to me! As a child, I used a 9v radio battery to do the same thing to a dead frog to make my sister scream in horror.
Show me your monster frankenstein!
