Hi,

I'm considering getting the iAudio6 as my first MP3 player, (though I would have liked to know if there are any intentions of a version with greater capacity)

features Im looking for all seem to be here:
small size
recording modes
video playback
text viewer for address info (havent seen any other one with this feature besides X5)
usb-on-the-go (bonus too)
(dont care if its flash or hdd)
(mp3 & wma are good enough for me)

But besides the reviews which I read.....

I haven't heard current owners say, that they love it!!!

Any thoughts from current owners

Thanks
Peter

All good except for VERY SLOW ACCESS rate, especially when it is 4gig filled

cowon promised a f/w fixed, so till now is still a bad buy

I don't think it's a bad buy at all considering all the features construction etc....But to each it's own.

design wise.... do u think u can use it singled-handedly? this I will show u a picture soon. u need to use the hold-button all the time because of the super sensitive buttons.

I use it one handed all the time. I've had it in a case since I got it. So I never
have any problems pressing buttons accidentally. It took me a couple day's to get used to it but now it's a breeze.

Do the text files have to be stored in one location or could I store them in the same folder as the music files....lets say I had the track listings on the text file?

Also would the video player be good enough (besides small)to watch say a 40minute show?

Has anyone watched a video thats atleast 20-30 minutes long?

How well does that work?

Apart from the obvious eyestrain, it works fine. The video doesn't skil, and fast forwarding/rewinding through the video also works well. Framerate is limited but it's not too noticeable given the small screen size anyway.

I concur with qxvy, it works fine. It is definitely easier to watch when you're sitting down or at home or whatever. I tried watching a 23 minute TV show on a greyhound bus once and I found it very difficult. There was too much shaking and the screen is so small you really have to move your eyes with it as it shakes which is tough. I haven't tried it since, but I'm guessing on a normal public transpo bus would be similar.

Well after playing with mine all day I can honestly say that it's a pretty good little machine. The startup time sucks the first time you turn it on after loading music, but that's only the first time as far as I can tell. I'm still using the 1.14 firmware and I have all of my MP3's renamed so I don't really care about the ID3 tag searching.

Once again, the SQ of the iAudio players just wows me. I loved my U2 and now I love the 6. If they speed up the track to track speed and initial startup speed, I'll be very happy.

I have had the I6 for the better part of a month and I do love the lil device. It has a nice form factor, and is simple to use (and learn to use). I am not that creative with regards to playlists and the like so being limited to one dynamic playlist doesn't bother me. Wallpaper, movies etc are all great on the device (although i find that using jetaudio or virtualdub still dont get enough compression for my tastes) as well as the OLED and sound quality. I do HATE the load time between songs that I have noticed with 1.21 (i have all files in folders of less than 10 etc. And that's about it. If it was not for the load times between songs, or rewinding a song I would roll through the streets naked telling the world about my love for the i6. Of course, i suppose thats a plus for everyone else.

I know I started this thread but just wanted to say that I just got my new I6 (24 hours old) and love it myself.

Thanks to everyone for answering my questions.

Well after using mine for the better part of two weeks, I've decided to go back to my U2. The track limitations in folders was the ultimate downfall. I use my player at the gym mostly and I like to make playlists and just randomly skip across hundreds of songs I like...you just can't do that with the A6. The U2 works fine...and still sounds outstanding. Sure, the gadget freak in me loves the A6...but the functionality freak in me likes the performance of the U2 quite a bit better.
