I am running on 1.76 currently, but dont see any album art on any audio files being played. Do I have to treat the audio files before uploading or do something else to make the arts appear on the A2's mighty screen(actually compared to my nano [smile] ).

few other things that I wish to say

**The best part I have noticed with 1.76 yet is faster booting.***

**dont understand why the A2 has to show the processing icon in the photo slide show**

** how to eliminate the "hiss" sound while recording voice. Didnt notice it when recorded loud music **

[help]

To use album art, you will need to get an image of the album you want it to display, and put it in the same folder as the music.

thanks for quick response [smile]

I will try it. But this way sounds liitle strange[unsure] , because then all the songs in the same folder will show the same image. That means I have to maintain all files in the folder of their specific album name, even if I have just single songs of numerous albums. I wont be able to make collections[sad] , coz playlist feature is very vert limited in A2, almost useless. You cant even save a playlist. you can have only 100 entries per playlist in each mode.

Album art display is supposed to be related with ID3 tag, i.e. where each single music file has its own image attached to it that can be read and displayed by the player.

Please correct me if i am wrong or teach me anything that I didnt learn about A2...

hope to see solution to it....thanks

You can also rename the album art image to be the same name as the song it related to.

However, if it plays some song that does not have album art for them, it will randomly pick one pictures in that folder and display it instead.

or use media monkey and you can embed the picture in the file so you dont have to mess with image files

Or, you could use a program like Media Monkey (http://www.mediamonkey.com/) to embed the images into the ID3 tags of the songs themselves.

oh good !! [smile] I will definately try this software to embade the image file to the song file. And that means A2 can detect the image in the song file and display it.

I have many files on A2 with tagged images, but strangely A2 didnt show it !!. I see those on my nano.

Are you guys using this software to see the album art on your A2 ? I guess each different media player software have their own standard or method of displaying album art. So the file that shows album art in window media player may not show anything on "itunes" or "music match box"........right ?

same concept might hold for portable players too...[blush]

am I right ??

anyway I am going to play with this monkey for sure this eve [biggrin]

thanks to you all...[smile]

1. The images are progressive jpegs, and not normal jpegs. Just open them in paint and resave them, or use Media Monkey's Amazon tagging feature to add album art in the files

2. The icrap is storing the album art separately from the files when it transfers them to the nano. I don't know enough about icraps to know if this is the case.

Media Monkey embeds the album art in the ID3 tag I think it's part of the ID3 v3.2 spec.

I use Tag & Rename for getting album art onto songs that are different in the same folder, if the folder is a album I just drop the JPEG into that folder and it comes up nicely, If I don’t want to bother scanning in the album cover and resizing and all that I just find the same album on Amazon click on the art and “Save File As” its just the right size. It works a treat.
