Saw this over at Engadgement. Looks quite a bit like a G3.

Not sure if Cowon is the OEM or not. Probably not. Looks like it uses Li-ion batteries.

Here's a link to this device. It sports a li-ion rechargable that can reportedly go for a continuous 153 hours. (if that true's... adios to the AA batteries...) It looks like it's based on the COWON G3, maybe even a clone.

Here's a link to buy one from the manufacturer. ($99.99 for 1gb and $139.99 for 2gb.) Hmmm...

Hold the phone... trustworthy Amazon's got the 1gb for $129 and free shipping.

Try it someone and tell us if it's any good!

I can tell you the 153 hours is true, I've seen raves about it several places. I've heard a lot of good things about it.

Nah, gotta get an X5 60gb running RockBox to compliment my G3 1gb.

I wonder if it has the bookmark feature?

there is a cnet uk review here:

I was somewhat interested at first read, but I don't think this one is for me. I will stick with my 1gb G3 for now. No mention of bookmarks, and poor audio quality. The battery life is very nice, however. It show that it can be done. I would love to see the breakdown of power to various functions of the G3, or any/all players.

Come-on, Cowon, up the memory of the G3. MobiBLAH can do it, why can't you? Change the CPU if that's what it takes.
