Is rockbox a possibility on the iaudio 6? I know it runs on the nano, and it works on teh X5 as well but is there some sort of memory/cpu disadvantage to the iaudio that would make it unable to run rockbox?

At this point, my #1 concern in an mp3 player is the ability to run rockbox/linux. Id hate to have to get a nano cause that thing is a POS. im also not sure i want to shell out for the X5, especially since it has a low res lcd and im not too sure about that joystick thing.

The i6 uses a Telechips chipset and so far there are no Rockbox players out there using that chipset. Theorhetically you can port Rockbox to any player, the question is just how much effort does it require.

It would be at least a year before we see Rockbox on the i6 if someone started working on it now (IMHO).

I agree...Rockbox hit the Nano more quickly because it used a chipset already in use in other Ipods, if I'm not mistaken. I'm enjoying my POS Nano with a protective casing...and it's holding up well.
