Amazon's got the G3 - 1gb for $128 with free shipping. That's the lowest I've seen so far...

Tell us how it goes. When I got my G3, I got it from Amazon even though the zipzoom price was lower. Some of the zipzoom reviews had me worried. I paid $143. Don't forget to save the demo music before you upgrade the FW.

I just bought one from BH photo for 119. Shipping costs 5 or 6 bucks, so it is about the same as what was posted previously. However I beleive this is a stable price, not one that jumps around like Amazon. Good customer support so far.

Yesterday it was $124, today it's $109 at newegg.com. $4.99 shipping. Lowest I've seen so far! :notworthy

Wow! At first I thought you confused the price of the 512MB with the price of the 1GB. It's true: $110 for the 1GB @ Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16855603814). That's less less than I paid for the 512MB version.

HOWEVER: I'm leery about ordering from Newegg. They mention that "This item is warranted through the product manufacturer only." (product not refundable from Newegg). I believe Amazon would be better about replacing defective merchandise. That's why I chose them instead of Newegg when I bought my 512MB version. Hopefully the Newegg price will help drive down the Amazon price though.

I recently bought a Radeon 9600 video card from NewEgg and the price and delivery was great. The darn thing showed up in three days and the rebate even worked. NewEgg seemed to do a good job. I wouldn't hesitate buying from them again.

$109.99... do I hear $99?

It's now $99.99 shipped at Amazon. It kinda looks like Cowon is trying to unload these while they're still worth something. They have litterally 200 of these for sale at $109.99 on their ebay store, and it doesn't look like they're selling a whole lot of them.

No wonder they aren't going ahead with the G5 (at least if rumors are correct). Like so many others, I love the AA battery format, but I think we're definitely in the minority.

That's the most depressing implied premonition I've heard all week. I don't really want the G5 that was cancelled, but I'd be very sad if Cowon abandons the AA battery format.

How they could decide on not making flash devices that use the AA-standard, is beyond me. It's the best way to power a flash-based device. When flash memory overtakes hard drives for personal audio devices, there will be a lot more people like us who will want their device to run on a common standard battery. I wonder if Cowon is smart enough to forsee this.
