U3 has trouble reading .avi file

I converted two small video clips files to .avi (SNL clips from the web) that were orginally .wmv files. I converted the .wmv files with the jetAudio program that then converted it to .avi files. But when I try to play it on my U3 a couple things happen. First, the music plays before the video appears on the screen (3 to 4 second delay). Second, when the video does play its, for lack of a better term, pixelated and squared. Last, the U3 hangs up within 20 to 30 seconds of play time. I have to reset the player to get it to its normal state. I have upgraded to the 1.12b firmware, and the files that were orginally on the U3 played seamlessly. Any suggestiongs would be greatly appreciated.

i have been having video transfer problems as well. I have tried transfering several different formats to the u3, including .avi , .wmv, .mpeg. all of these sucessfully are put onto to the u3, but when i try and view them it says that the video file is empty, as if i didn't put it in there. Does any one have any suggestions on what is happening?

I can help Tom John, the U3 only plays mp4 files so you have to convert all your files using the Jet Audio program, the files should then show up:bigthumbs

However i dont know what the problem is for you k3werra it might be something to do with the firmware as this current beta firmware seems a bit buggy.

I feel stupid now. When I converted the .wmv files to .avi files through the jetAudio program I forgot to change the setting to convert for the U3 (It was orginally set for the X5). Finally noticed it when I read the converted filename. It plays fine now. As for tom john use the jetAudio program to convert the files to .avi (.avi is the orginal file conversion setting). I don't know why it converts it to .avi since the features says it read mpeg4.
