View Full Version : Computer Startup...
Hey guys. I just got the X5L for Xmas... wow... wow wow wow... I just love it. I also ended up getting the Hub and the FM/Charger thing (limited stations.. blah). But anyway, I use the hub all the time and my question is, when I put in there it automatically connects to the computer. Now with the X5L, we all know it acts as a HDD.. which I think is the reason why my computer won't get through bios and into Windows. Now I was wondering:
A) Does anyone else have similar problems?
B) What are some solutions??
C) Is there a way I can have my X5L not connect to USB and just charge in the Hub??
Thanks guys. Merry Chirstmas. Happy New Year.
None of my computers like any player plugged into the usb port before startup. I guess its looking for the system software and cant find it??
Um... if you're describing the problem I think you're describing, the solution is to disconnect the X5L and then plug it in after the computer's been booted up. It IS hot-pluggable, meaning that it can be safely plugged in after the computer's booted.

Just use the AC adapter and unplug the USB cable when doing this??

I did the same thing when putting songs on my mom's U2, I left it plugged in, restarted, and it didn't get to the Windows screen. I think the computer was actually trying to boot from the player, thought it was a boot disk or whatever.

From my experience, you are exactly right.

If these are newer PCs, there is an option in BIOS for boot devices. Probably have USB in there. My laptop did the same thing when I had a USB flash drive in it and I forgot to take it out. Changed my BIOS settings and don't have that problem anymore. You have to love the joys of new technology :winker:

same here, my pc wont boot with my x5 plugged in. Idk why, but it's easier to just unlug it then to look for solutions.
