It's official. My sister has caught the iPox. To my dismay, my mom gave her a 2gb iPod nano for christmas. I spent atleast 1 1/2 hrs trying to convince her to buy the 1GB u3 that has all the same features as the nano plus video and radio. All for $40 less. How I pleaded my case, how I told her what iPods did to your soul. It was if all the time i had spent on this site was in preparation for this very moment. But to no avail, in the end she decided to keep the iPod giving the reason she didn't want to wait a week to recieve the u3 in the mail. I love my sister, that's why it saddens me to see the dark path she has chosen.

When I was selling my U2 for getting U3, one guy said to me "Cowon is not a recognized trademark, people prefer popular things".

Your sister prefers to say "Hey, I got an Ipod" "Wow!!! that's awesome, great, wow!!!", but if she says "Hey I got a U3" "What is that??? is so little spaceless useless not popular"

Anyway... she's woman....

funny story... my cowrker bought a nano for her daughteur... i showed her my u3 and she was really impressed that she wanted to get one for her own... that being said her daughteur would probably be happier with the nano (she's 12)

I bought a U3 over the Nano, because for me, the Nano's inability to play non AAC and MP3 files was a deal breaker. While I am happy with my choice, I think that I have to concede though that the Nano is really a very impressive device. I wish that the U3 had a UI that was anywhere near as elegant or user friendly as what the Nano has. Given this fact (which I think is undisputable), along with the Nano's cheaper price, means that I can't blame anybody for choosing to buy one. For most people, who keep all of their music in MP3, and don't care about video, the Nano is really a very good choice.

When Cowon develops an equally good UI and software frontend as Apple has, then I will say that there is no reason for a rational person to purchase the Nano. At this point however, I can't yet say that, and for some people, the Nano clearly is the best choice, with merits that go beyond its styling.

i think its really impossible to have such an interface in this size...no1 can do it...unless companies start providing magnifying glasses...

All I hear from people about why iPod v.x is the user interface, the user interface. Gawd people! Is that why you listen to music? So you can click a spinning circle? Well done Apple, for convincing people that the enjoyment one gets from music resides soley on how it's accessed.

That being said, it takes all of about an hour to get used to how iAudios file structure is layed out; after that, you're in. It's easy, we don't have any hassles. It's as if the interfaces weren't any different than those of iPods. Wow, an hour learning curve. Yah, that's a deal breaker for months and years of awesome features and sound quality?

I agree about the user interface. The Nano is better than the U3. The IU and the screen are the only points of the Nano better than the U3. Everything else about the U3 is better. After owning both the U3 sounds so much better than the Nano. This is the main reason why I can not stand to use my Nano anymore, the sound is so much better on the U3.
