I am new to this. Just got my A2 and ripped and encoded a few DVDs using AutoGK. I has used both DVDShrink and DVDDecrypter to do the ripping for different disks. Had couple of questions about AutoGK.

I looked the help or guide pages. Those show AutoGK allowing us to select an input directory or location of VOB/IFO files. But in reality it asks you to select a file and sometime I select the right file by trial and error. But I would like to know what is the way to select the right IFO or VOB files so that I get the movie (may be previews too sometimes)? Sometimes the tool complain about not being able to parse the IFO file. Probably I am selecting the wrong IFO file.

Also I noticed my encoding is talking 5-7 hrs! per disk. is that normal or am I
doing something unnecessary ? I amd using 2CD (1400MB) option.

If this is an old thread please let me know.

thanks

When you use DVD decrypter you can choose to rip just the main movie(VOB + IFO) then just add the ifo file to autoGK.
(under the output file section it will tell you the length of the file you just added, that should help you determine if it's the right file)

AutoGK does take a long time to encode but try changing it's priority setting and don't use too much of the CPU's power while encoding

the amount of time is depending on your machine but 5-7 hours is normal especialy because AutoGK is encoding 2pass.

Use IFO mode in DVDecrypter and select the longest one (is autoselected most of the time anyway)
