I just noticed the G3 is significant cheaper than the U2 or the I4 on
www.advancedmp3players.co.uk:
G3 1 GB: £169.00
U2 1GB: £229.00
I4 1GB: £239.00

Strange differences in price , the oldest one ist the most expensive ....
£239.00 are more than 400$ , wow !!
Who pays this for an old iaudio4 ??
Why should someone do this?

I bought my U2 1GB in US for ca. 230$.

I think it's because the G4 was metal right? As for the U2 well, the G3 is basically the same thing just longer battery life....so I guess they dropped the price to make it more appealing.

One Simple Reason: Memory Prices

The Memory prices are constantly falling. But older players are produced with the memory that was bought at a certain point in the past (when it was more expensive). Newer players are built with the memory that was purchased at a very good rate sometime closer to "now".

Seeing that shops like AMP3 buy the players at a set price, they also have to sell them at a set price as not to make a massive loss.

Seeing that they probably bought a big bulk of iAUDIO4s in the past, they have to try and get rid of them even at that high price.

But who is so stupid and buys a player which is a bit outdated and much more expensive? I think the shops have all to lower dramatically their prices to sell their i4 and U2 stocks anyway.
