View Full Version : iaudio x5l,clunk question
I bought an Iaudio x5l on Friday and uploaded some music onto it and while browsing through tracks heard a clunk along with a whir when i turned it on after original clunk. I know it’s a hard drive but both reminded me of my various dodgy drives through the years, it also froze while playing tv episodes. Last night I was searching through mp3s and it froze except for the timer which was on the screen and stayed that way. I exchanged it for new one earlier. Uploaded music few minutes ago it again clunked while flicking through and when I chose my song it clunked few seconds into it but didn’t impact the player.
What’s the situation with mp3 players, do you usually hear a clunk while using it ?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Hey, I had a similar situation and started asking around here:

I beleive the HDD noise i was describing is really like a "clunk" sound ;) So, far no troubles with mine ... so far ...
The clunk is normal. However, a recent X5 that i got for my cousin sounds different when the HD spins. On my brother's X5 and mine, the spin is more smooth and silent. I've loaded the music and played my cousin's but the wierd sound from the harddrive spinning kinda worries me. I must say though that i defragmented his, then right after loaded 10gb of music, and when i was done the X5 was kinda warm. I didnt turn it on before so i'm not sure if it sounded like that before i did all of that. I guess i shouldn't worry, cause it has not had any problem, but still....
Thank you for the replies
update on the x5l is that the same freeze cept for timer happened earlier this morning. I was on my way into city when it happened so i just popped up to the shop and asked if i could get a refund. I can but in truth i really want an x5l,any ideas on what i could do? i figure test it out while in the shop for 20mins but otherwise im stumped. I'd feel like an ass going back for the third time
