View Full Version : I/O Error
Certain songs in my collection will not transfer to my mp3 player. It pops up an alert saying that there was an I/O device error when trying to transfer the file, and with seemingly no reason.
This is a VERY annoying problem.

Don't know the issue if it is only some files. Is there any pattern? Like funny characters, long file name, long directory name, etc. Some more information would help.
It happens to a few random songs. No pattern whatsoever. Tried changing name/id3 tags/other stuff, but as long as the actual information for the music is the same it won't transfer.
I get the same message, and it is very annoying. Like zerone said, there doesn't appear to be any pattern and it happens with all kinds of files. Sometimes if I re-encode the file, then it will transfer, but sometimes not. I've had my x5 for less than a week and have put about 5gb of music on it, but the "I/O device error" happens so frequently that I'm contemplating returning the player. I really like everything else about it, but this is driving me crazy!
