View Full Version : Stolen X5

So, a couple nights ago my backpack "disappeared", and my X5 was in it. My question now is, does anybody know where I can find the serial number so I can report it (on the off chance that someone honest finds it)?
Also, given the extreme unlikelyhood of it ever resurfacing, I'd really like to replace it. I've still got all the cables and everything, so I was wondering if there was a way to buy only the unit? I emailed Cowon about this but no reply so far. Anyone with a similar experience, please let me know.
I have a 30 gig non-L I could sell you if you'd like. I'd be fine selling the X5 without accessories.

I actually only had the 20 gig before and I don't have a whole lot of money... how much were you looking to sell it for?
Hm. I'd rather you made me an offer, and I'll get into whether or not that's agreeable then. I can and would in some ways prefer to include a zcover, if that would interest you. It's not a make-or-break though.

I've thought about it a bit and I'm probably not going to be able to replace it anytime soon - I wouldn't be able to give you what it's worth... so you should probably go ahead and sell it to someone else. Thanks for the offer though.
No problem. Sorry to hear about your X5 getting stolen. I may keep mine around for awhile, so if things change, maybe with the upcoming holiday, you'd be welcome to PM me and see if I still have it available.
I know how you feel. My dell dj 1st gen was stolen about 4 months ago.
I called dell (since I ordered it from them) and got the serial and reported it. It was no use though :\
I would check around at some pawn shops in the next week or two. If you report the serial to the police, the pawn shops are SUPPOSED to check the serials on all the items they buy, lots don't though.
The sad thing is, I have a good idea of who stole mine. I can't do anything about it though because I have no evidence at all :(
