Hi

What does everyone think the cowon team will end up going for, file tree or datbase?

Im guessing they are going to stick with the file tree format because loking at the design of the player it does not seem as if it would be the best way of navigating with just the little joystick. Although saying that I suppose sony have got the same sort of operation on their NW HD series, so far.

Personally I would like to see a database function instead of file tree as it can be better to look for tracks etc. especially if you are used to usin things like media 10 (Like me!) It would be interesting to see if they could do what iriver did in their H1xx series and let the user take the choice. But if they did decide to do this I think they would have to think it out a lot better than iriver did considering the complaints etc. that iriver customers have over bugs etc. with the database function.

Also a few people on here do go on about this issue with the M3. Is this actually possible to simply introduce the database function through firmware though? When I had my M3 i didn't find it too hard to get used to the file tree but database can be a lot quicker to navigate (as long as if scroll speed is fast). I used a friends zen micro the other day and I thought that it was a very good plaer but I wouldn't get one due to the fact it's only 5gb. But it was easy to use and having a removable battery was also a very good idea. Cowon take note: removable battery in future pease!!

Russ.

I agree with yoy. I do believe that iAudio should let the user have a choice between navigating with the database function or the file tree. I personally only use the file tree method, but I know many people use this function and iAudio should think about implementing it.
