what do i do? the cowon website is out of chargers for the x5/x5l where do i get one?

Don't you have the USB connectors? It will take a lot longer, but you'll get recharged.

I'm not sure how to set up a search for this, but a few weeks ago there were references to cell phone chargers that work with the X5.

well, the first thing u should do is put down ur dog :winker:

second, go to ebay or just wait while cowon gets back in stock. in the mean time charge it with the pc. oh and how badly is the charger chewed???

pretty bad. the part that goes into the wall is chewed up, and one of the metal things is missing.

and the cell phone thing didn't work. :-(.

how do you charge it via usb? when my subpack broke, i plugged it up to the pc, and left it for about 18 hours and it didn't do anything.

go to settings > USB Mode and make sure Pc (Charge) is selected. if it is already, then i am clueless.

edit: wait if ur subpacks broken how r u connecting it to ur pc?

What about getting a universal charger from Rat Shack. They have units where you can vary the viltage from 2 - 12 V. Just need to get the correct amperage rating. Look on your charger or in the manual. It should have it. Then go to RS and make sure to get the right tip. Just in case, bring your X5 and subpack with you. They should be able to help you there. I did this with my Delphi XM2Go unit earlier this year.

Dog chews wall charger? let me guess ...Labrador, under 1 year old? lol
Theres a ton of universal charger , watch the voltage and polarity.

If your connecting to your PC via the subpack then you can charge via USB - connect the player to your PC and then turn the player off (whlist it's still connected) and it'll start charging.

Takes about 3 times as long as when your charging via the A/C adaptor but it should be able to keep you going till the new charger arrives.
