Well, I don't have a PSP, but I think you use USB Host and the PSP will think it is connected to a computer. Exchange files and you are ready to go.

i thought the PSP did not have any kind of internal memory.... just Mem cards..

i was thinking of actually running movies and what not from the X5?

I think the PSP can write to those cards(that's how you can save games). People like the X5/PSP combo because the PSP has a better screen and the X5 is better at audio and has more space. So then you would get a reasonable sized card and use the X5 to change movies when you are bored.
