I also had problems to register. You can sent them a mail and then they will help you, within a week or so.

They were not really quick responding in my case. This forum works better then the Iaudio-site. ;-)

Me too and haven't received any response.
They might have their email server infected with virusand our incoming servers are eating all their outgoing email. :-(

I hope this virus won't spread to their factory: won't be good when all incoming parts start eating there outgoing MP3-players...

I also couldn't register on iaudio.com and have also sent them a mail... that was 2 weeks ago. Not the slightest reaction. I also tried the "Forgotten your password" link but got no mail either.

I sent them another mail yesterday from a different mail account because I was thinking that perhaps my domain was just blocked somehow :-? No reaction yet :-(

Quite bad if you want to buy hardware from a company which you have to import because it's not available here and then can't even get in contact with the company :-?

I also had problems downloading. Solution for me was to use another PC. At home I couldn't download, but at my work it went well. Maybe this helps you too?

aah, figured it out to be the firewall was blocking the ilb file. I downloaded JetLogo and just saved the gif, then created the ilb from that instead.
Got a gif animator app so will have a go myself. I love these little customisable things...:)

Old thread, but still the same problem?

We've repeatedly tried to register our new iAudio 4 with iAudio.com but without success. The product field is too small for the serial number, whereas the longer 'JetShell' field accommodates it but says the number isn't valid.

The whole business of product registration seems idiotically clunky. Why? Other manufacturers have a one-button click-to-register, whereas the iAudio site seems to want you to sign up as a user, then go to your 'me page', then register your product there. . . and then refuse to allow the serial number to be input.

So what should be a 30-second task takes up to half an hour, with no success at the end of it.

Disappointing.

What's the benefit of registering?

Mmmm. Good question -- the iAudio 4 manual certainly doesn't make it too clear. All it says is (quote):

After purchasing iAudio, be sure to perform customer registration at iAudio.com. This serial number is required for customer registration at iAudio.com It is also required for installing the JetShell program. Take special care not to lose this serial number since it will not be reissued.

Also, the manual includes a warranty card covering repairs for 2 years.

But if the iAudio 4 can't be registered on Cowon's website, then. . ?????

The serial number is the key here.
It's the long one in the CD packaging - not the short one included within unit.

i just signed today and already received the password for the site!

Hi en croute -- sorry, you lost me! The serial number I'm looking at is a silver printed sticker on the outside back page of the iAudio 4 'User's Manual'. It's 19 alphanumeric characters long including dashes and (says the wording underneath) is "this serial number is required for customer registration at iAudio.com".

I'll have a look at the CD now, it's still in the box, unopened -- thanks for the info (though why Cowon couldn't have made it clear, I've no idea: what's the point of sticking a serial number on a manual if it isn't, er, the serial number????)

Wolff: yeah, I signed up today as well. No problem. But customer / user registration is one thing. Trying to register one's actual product seems to be quite another. . .

Sorry, meant to add: iAudio.com didn't ask me for any serial number in order to sign up today, just my name, some personal details, and email address.

I'm a member at iAudio.com but I can't register my I5. At first, the I5 and G3 weren't an option in the drop down menu. I sent Cowon an email about it and hey presto, a week or so later they redesign the entire website... JUST FOR ME! Aw shucks guys, you didn't have to go that far.

So, problem solved? No. I still can't register my I5 as it won't accept the serial number for Jetshell (serial number invalid). Well, it's the only one I've got... 19 numbers including the "-"s. Do I have to get them to redesign the whole site for me again..?

The only reason I want to register my I5 is because they sodding well won't let me. Emailed them too. No reply so far. Grrrr.

Exapno -- clearly, you're a person of greater influence than me! Well done on getting 'em to rearrange things so as to include your I5.

Except that you and me and presumably everyone else is in the same boat -- oh, love your last line:

'the only reason I want to register my I5 is because they sodding well won't let me'.

That's exactly my feeling where the I4 is concerned.

(But what a needless waste of time this all this. . .)
