I think it's sweet.
Way better then the F1 but that's not so hard.

this thing is really nice!

i was going to plunge and buy my girlfriend a u2 but the u3 looks smaller and generally nicer.

the price will most likely put me off though... ah well, if it makes the u2 2gb cheaper, i might get that instead of the 1gb.

first impression...fatter and smaller than thh u2 with a much bigger round edges.

infact, i was thinking of getting the u2 as a usb drive/mp3 player.. and now the u3 catch my attention... i can't wait ot see it release in the u.s.

as always, another great producr from cowan.

Hope they have fixed the realy slow start up time and the still (w/ fw 1.50) broken shuffle function of the 2GB U2.

U3 looks really good, and if the above problems are solved this might be a nice upgrade instead of another brand when my U2 is history :/

Iaudio_God, tell the people over at Cowon that this thing looks like it will rock!
Great Job.

Oh yeah, and how many frames per second will the video be?

15fps, and yes it is a sweet looking player.

I owned the U2 but traded it in for FLAC support and video playback. The U3 looks very awesome - flash-based memory is definitely one thing I miss in my X5l. I will probably pick one of these up shortly after its release so that I can go running with music again (too nervous to run with my X5l) - very very cool!

Cowon is simply awesome.

hm.. well, I'm not impressed at all. I think U3 is chubby (fat), doesn't look good, the screen is too small and 15fps is not impressing at ALL. 30mw+30mw in output is not bad though.

But if I buy a new mp3-player this autumn/winter, it'll probably be iRiver's U10.

I'm afraid you're at the wrong forums. you were looking for misticriver.net. k? bye then.

Don't get me wrong. I own an iAudio U2. When the U2 came out it was, and still is, one of the best mp3 players around. Every feature on it was really good aswell as the spec's.

The U3 with it's small screen I believe is inferior to the U10. Don't take this personally, just sharing my opinion =)

I believe that the U10 will be priced higher than the U3, but I might be mistaken.

It's a step in the right direction. I hope they can get past the 20 hour battery a bit (since it's more like 12 or so), and keep it relatively thin (not like nano thin, but keep it comfortable in the pocket). The only real downfall is memory and price...

Still, keep it up with the fine firmware upgrades! Anyone wanna trade a U3 for I5? :p

Yah but who is going to use the U3 for video anyway? With it's limited space its not like much is going to fit on their.

if you are talking about the space as in the memory, then there's no problem fitting a simpsons (or seinfeld, futurama, friends, whatever) on an 256mb player. I had an 3G mobile not long ago that could play Mpeg4 movies. And I nicely fit in a simpsons episode on its 64mb memory. Good quality and good sound (the maximum framerate was 12fps though).

Note: The screen of that 3G mobile was smaller than the screen on U3.

Why do people fall for that video-playback-joke so easily? I can't understand why someone would want to watch anything on a tiny screen with a bad resolution and bad frames per second... it's just a geeky case of "look what I can do"... otherwise the U3 looks really nice.

I wonder if the price of U2 will fall when U3 is released. Cause I really don't need video playback capabilities. And the U2 2gb version is kinda high priced atm.

i might buy the 512 just for gym and such. Lot smaller, much easier and stuff. Hopefully it will be priced nicely.
