Just bought a 30 gig X5 from there for $295 shipped. Not bad. My girlfriend got one last week and so after seeing it, I had to have one.

eCost has the best prices. Hands down.

I would think that if newegg made the mistake of shipping the wrong product, then you could easily get them to reimburse your shipping cost. I have dealt with newegg for many years, and the first thought I always have about them is their excellent customer service. Most people say the same thing. I am usually willing to pay a few dollars more at newegg because I like to support vendors that care about customer service (i.e. not ecost).

I guess my point is: Call them back and insist on a reimbursement for your shipping costs, I do not think they will refuse.

Of the two things I've bought there that were in stock, I've received two emails telling me those products weren't really in stock.

No point in good prices if they don't have any merchandise.

I thought about it, BUT:

NewEgg is NOT an authorized reseller... so you get a Korean warranty.

Now, that's all and good if you're in Korea... but I live withing a hundred miles of their main shipping point. (In sunny Palos Verdes... home of the rich kids who get a BMW X5 for their 16th birthday)

Wonder if the Egg is trying to liquidate some of their stock so that they won't get stuck with a bunch when the X6 comes out.

I'm in Korea, so that'd be a sweet deal for me, but I already have the X5 60GB. Oddly, they don't sell the 60GB model in Korea. Got mine from the Egg. Wonder if the Korean service center would freak when they see mine. Had a friend who brought his Hyundai over here to Korea and when they serviced his Hyundai, they were trippin' at the engine size because the domestic models have smaller engines than the export models.

Well, my current problem with newegg is that they don't stock the cowon a2 30gb anymore, so I'm planning on buying it from ecost, after I confirm that they already have it after hearing what Thasp said.

If not then I'll have to pay an extra $40 to get it elsewhere...damn newegg, they had it for $400!

I just called Cowon, and they confirmed that Newegg IS an authorized dealer, just wanted to update this information.

Cheers,

The name is COWON not Cowan. Anyway, Newegg seems to be the best place to buy COWON products, in terms of both customer service and price. I regret buying my X5 for $300 at COWON America instead of waiting several months for the A2 to come out and buying it for $65 more at Newegg

Here's the e-mail from NewEgg that gave me that impression:

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for contacting Newegg.

We appreciate your interest in purchasing from Newegg.com (http://newegg.com/). The warranty depends on the where the monitor was made. Most of our LCD's are made in Korea.

If you have any further questions please reply to this email and we will be happy to assist you.

Have an Eggcelent day.

Thank you,
