I was trying to play this video I converted, and the X5 just froze while trying to load it. The hourglass kept going and going but nothing would load, for over a minute. None of the controls would respond, not even the power button. Is there a way to turn it off or reset it when it gets stuck like this? Has anyone else encountered this problem?

edit: Upon further investigation, the problem occurs after I try to play a video file, and then the video part doesn't play, but the audio does, then the next file I try to play will make it freeze, whether its a video OR audio file. If I try to play the same video file on my computer, it will play fine.

There's reset button on the bottom right side. You need a toothpick to press it though.

It's the wrong format. What do you use? Try Iriverter and Jetaudio THEN try it on the x5. See if it works. Could just be a format that won't work no matter what OR cut the file in half if it's a big long movie (bigger file takes longer to load up) OR lower the fps to say 10 and try again.

Just because it can play back on the computer means nothing. You computer has alot more firepower than your x5 and more formats that are compatiable. Check out Iriverter. It's never done me wrong and it's so easy to use.

Lucifer: Thanks for the info about the reset.

Anonamis: No, I converted the files with Jetaudio. I'll try Iriverter, though.

download the most recent version of Jetaudio. The version on my cd did not make working movies, the recent version works good for me.

this has happened to me as well. I have a short video that wont play and locks up the x5. i've converted it several times with the same results, very weird.
