(The subject is from Batman, sort of)
I have been reading through these forums as a guest for a couple of months now, and I finally decided to join. I don't currently own any iAudio products, but when we get some more money I believe I can force my parents into buying a Cowon iAudio X5L 20 Gb for me (I think I have them throughly convinced that it's an excellent buy, it's just the money that's the limiting factor). If I'm insanely lucky (or my mom wins the lottery) then I might even get those Shure E5c headphones that I want to go with it. After blindly listening to mp3 files for years, I discovered FLAC, and I have never looked back. I still have a few mp3s (downloaded songs), but all of my CDs are FLACed onto my hard drive. After research, I found that by moving over to FLAC, I was limited to 3 DAPs, and Cowon's iAudio X5 instantly struck me as the best. Through my research, I've discovered that even if I didn't use FLAC, I'd still probably choose the X5 over any other player. In short, I hope that you guys can welcome me and accept me into the fold. I'll try as hard as I can to not piss people off, but I'm not a miracle worker. :)

I don't care if the earbuds look good, I care if they sound good, and the E5cs have that in spades.

UPDATE: My iAudio X5L 20 Gb is on order from Newegg and should get to me... eventually :) I'm hoping for Monday (we got 3 day shipping), but you never know...

Well.
Bad news is shipping estimates only take into account working days (no weekends).
Good news is, the E5cs can easily be found for around 350 dollaros these days. Amazon recently had them at 339 (maybe they still do).
Also, you might want to check out the Westone Um2s. They have the same base design as the E5cs, but opinions on them are generally more positive than those for the E5cs, which possess a few design foibles.
