This app is confirmed to be working on the Z2, but you'll have to side load it yourself (very easily done), so I just grabbed a video of it running on my Nexus S:

There is no sound on this video. I added the tiny hand in the screen recording software to make it easier to see what I was doing :)

Dang, I need to get a Z2.

Well, any audio player should work on the Z2 - they all worked on the D3 too.

I want to know if bbe/jet effects are global in android. What's the case with the d3?

Yes, BBE works with any audio/video player installed.

Apologies if this has been addressed before, but I did have a quick look online (only really found one short thread on headfi from a few years ago).

Is BBE, MP Enhance and Stereo Enhance actually worthwhile when using quality lossless rips (with amp & headphones if necessary)? I did try some A-B tests over the weekend and it seems as though MP Enhance and Stereo Enhance don't make any noticeable difference if the source files are lossless (I think they are aimed at making lossy LQ music sound better from my reading before getting the D3). Still not sure about BBE + Lossless music though...

Thanks

I wonder if the volume cap is still applied on the Z2 when using a third party music player, like on D3.

Also, signing up to a Google account is still required to get the full version running (purchased on Website or Market)/

Edit: about the OP's topic, worst case look into purchasing an affordable portable amp? If it's quality it will give you years of enjoyable service and more versatile audio options.

Does it means that the Cowon's signature sound quality is not altered at all when a different Android player is used?. Even for programs that are able to run FLAC?. I hope so, because it don't know if it makes sense to buy a Cowon if you finally use a different Android player and you get the same quality sound that a Samsung or Sony...
Some of the advantages of Cowon are missed now with Android. Several programs run FLAC and have multiple options to EQ.

MP Enhance has no effect on lossless files because the whole purpose of the effect is to artificially refill the data that was lost in a lossy conversion; kind of the audio equivalent of upconverting. BBE and stereo enhance should at least in theory change how it sounds, whether or not it sounds better to you is subjective.

Hi, the answer is yes, even on a rooted device, the only fix is to launch the mic recorder, but after doing that we can't click on 'home' or 'back' without hearing the volume turning down (about 25%).
I think the problem comes from the apps, i tried spotify, deezer, qobuz etc... the only third party music app without volume limit i know for the moment is poweramp.
If i don't find a fix on the internet or elsewhere before a week i'll sell my cowon on ebay without any regrets :/

It still limits the ALSA output for 3rd party players :(, also for PowerAmp. With the AlsaMixer app (root required) you can see this. I have tried quite a lot to fix this on the D3 until it broke again. If we just could reroute the volume buttons to another application, I could create an app which is using the alsa mixer directly.

If you don't mind me asking, are you saying the D3 broke or the AlsaMixer app?

Edit, saw on the firmware thread that you've had to send the D3 back for repair several times, so I guess I got my answer. Personally I'm hoping my D3 can struggle on for at least another year.
