I noticed that the new device of Cowon Z2 , going to have JetEffect 5.0 while Cowon j3 has JetEffect 3.0.

I am wondering how big the changes are?
It's intresting thought that non of the cowon's devices had Jet Effect 4.0

"4" is an unlucky number in Asia and thus has been skipped, so JetEffect 5 is the immediate successor of JetEffect 3.

There's also something called "Lossless Mixer". Cowon doesn't list it as part of JetEffect 5, though, so it might be a Z2-only feature.

As long as Cowon doesn't tell us what it is, we don't know.

i hope that if it does, this time it will be strawberries service, instead of melons service!

now, for real, this thing could proove usefull for j3 users like me, because i have about 80% flac music, and if it is about lossless it may improove somewhere the flacs. and this could be at least good!

I figure a 'Lossless Mixer' could be either a channel mixer (support for mono output, finally), or just mixing the sounds from other apps and your music together, etc.

But yeah, there's no way to know yet.

or just mixing the sounds from other apps and your music together

Found this piece of information on naver:

Was also equipped with Lossless Mixer, Lossless Mixer Android operating system, due to the noise and you'd take me to minimize any degradation in sound quality.

Seems like it just removes background noise... maybe.
That's all I could find.
