Hi all,

I have just bought a Cowon X7 and re-tag all my music with mp3tag.
I have flac and mp3 encoded music and nearly everything goes well.
But...
For albums containing songs beginning with the same name like 'La Bohème - Act ...', it sorts in the wrong order.
ex:
La Bohème - Act 1:...
La Bohème - Act 3:...
La Bohème - Act 1:...
La Bohème - Act 2:...
etc.

Here I am talking about selecting by artist/album or album and not by file in HDD.

I feel really frustrated that the firmware doesn't rely only on the tracknumber when it is set.

Maybe somebody have found another solution than to cut the beginning of each track title ? [confused]

(Sorry for mistakes, this isn't my native language)

I was wrong.
In fact the organisation problem is due to multi cds album.
For example, the album 'Greatest hits' is in 3 cds.
The song are sorted like this :
cdnumber-tracknumber
1-01
3-01
2-01
1-02
2-02
etc.

and not

1-01
1-02
etc.

What the hell is that? [cursing]
I really like X7's sound, but the firmware is a crap.

Not sure I can help directly but my albums that have more than 1 Cd are named separately (eg "CD Name - Disk 1", "CD Name - Disk 2" etc.

Thanks, but I don't want to name them separately because, I'll have to select another cd manually to listen to the rest of the album. Normally the firmware should handle this basic stuff ; even the Ipods handle it!

That's ok, I would agree with you. I guess having to select on the Cowon is the modern equivalent of having to change the CD in the hifi in order to listen to disc 2. :)

Good joke :-)
I hope the firmware will improve because it is really annoying...
Meanwhile, I have to select the music through HDD and the file names.
