Seems like this could be pretty interesting, not really a fan of CE though
Interesting? This thing is crap. :)

I guess their policy is to be different in any cost even if it won't make any sense.
Day after day the evidence seems to point stronger into the direction that Cowon has sacked their R&D department and are simply offering their old designs in new form factors, sometimes even with downgraded hardware. A bit worrying I'd say.
I dare to say Cowon has no future / not a good one. At least in the international market.
But as we all know, Cowon mainly produces for the Korean market only and doesn't give a shit about the rest of the world. They won't change their development pattern anytime soon.
That's why we have Americans and Germans as forum Moderators. :)
I personally wouldn't mind Windows CE 6.0 if the hardware it runs on could handle it well. If this player has smooth performance and makes me want to use it, I wouldn't mind its lack of Wi-Fi. From what I have heard the hardware is as usual "just-on-border". Like if it wasn't hard enough to overcome the 800x480 screen. Talk about Full HD experience.. >_>

Haha, by interesting i meant the ui and even thats pushing it, it seems like its just going to be the O2 or V5 with Windows which is a terrible idea with all the other operating systems they could have chosen.
I really don't understand where Cowon is going with those random devices. Can't I just get a successor to my S9 please? I only want bigger capacitive touchscreen/64 GB/quality sound, that's it!
There are days when I'm actally looking at Sony's PMPs but I'm afraid they will suck SQ-wise when I've been spoiled with Cowon's for years...

Not interested in the J3 or D3?
@AfroSamurai, I've been considering the J3 but I feel like it's too similar to the S9. It's a $250 upgrade...

When I have one of those days I take a look at Sony's measured sound "quality" (http://www.markuskraus.com/RMAA/a845/data.htm) and suddenly I don't feel like investing money on their devices at all... Even their former flagship series (X1000) seems to have similar output impedance problems, though not as pronounced as that. Personally I sometimes think I should just buy another S9 to replace my old one but then again it would be really sad to see that power switch break down a second time etc. [cry]
