Looks awesome! It makes me wish the J3 had a more powerful processor.

looks good, nice thinking on the angles, helps make up for cowons poor button design, they should have left that like the s9 imho.

hope to see it soon :)

I changed the thread title to something meaningful. "Wasnt expecting this so soon!" is a really useless title...

It's a link to Asurada's own site, a public website, nothing hidden. There's no problem with linking to that.

Does someone know the difference between the integrated and standalone versions?

Does someone know the difference between the integrated and standalone versions?

I'm just guessing for now (because the website is all Korean), but I believe it means that Integrated can only be installed as your #1 (of 3) interfaces, you can't change it from mainmenu1.swf, and it includes brower, player and main menu.

Standalone appears to let you pick/choose any of the three to install, and maybe set them as #2 or #3 interfaces - I haven't tried it yet.

Don't know the advantages of choosing one over the other, but perhaps the Integrated version is faster? Otherwise, I can't see any reason to release both.

Just downloaded both, so we'll see.......don't have my J3 handy to install anything at the moment. I'm a big fan of Kizune's work, but might try this one just to see how it looks and performs.

Where is the download link? I suppose you ought to describe where it is because apparenlty a direct link would cause issues.

The download links are plainly visible and in English, if you scroll down.

That music1.swf, music2.swf thing doesn't work without Claw right? :( Is there a way to achieve a similar effect on the J3?

For those of you having a hard time finding the download links:

Here's the page translated in google (to english): Click (http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ko&u=http://vasurada.egloos.com/5553217&ei=xKuLToKkEIO3twfm44iiAw&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CBwQ7gEwAA&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dhttp://vasurada.egloos.com/5553217%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dopera%26hs%3DSUb%26rl s%3Den%26channel%3Dsuggest%26biw%3D1440%26bih%3D76 7%26prmd%3Dimvns)

Also, whether you use the direct link that dfkt provided, or the translated link above,
you can press CTRL+F (find/search) in most browsers and copy in (minus the quotation marks):

"ASUCI_V2_1_2_Integrated.rar" for the Integrated download, or
"ASUCI_V2_1_2_Standalone.rar" for the Standalone download.

Overall it looks like a nice concept, so I'm checking it out. Happy downloading.

going to go check out the integrated version :D hopefully it only affects music and video and browser in the main menu 1. i dont want to get rid of leaf/lynx/sense...

The Integrated includes only the main menu and music, and the instructions say to copy EVERYTHING, while the standalone includes a mainmenu, music, and browser, and an # of them can be selected. no multi music ucis though...

Nahlidge

briant1234: if you're using the Integrated version, it's as easy as dropping
the 'mainmenu1' and 'music' .swf's into Flash UI, and loading it up.

(of course, just rename sense's music.swf to something like music_sense.swf)

once you load up the mainmenu1, hit the tick in the top left for 'internal browser'
and it'll enable the browser for ASUCI.

Haven't done the standalone yet, probably won't. It's a nice concept, looks nice,
but I just feel it's a bit too laggy for me. :\

briant1234
10-04-2011, 21:28
its not laggy at all compared to lynx (but thats probably because of the lack of custom icons, widgets, etc.) i dont see this uci going very far, since the lack of complete ucis for the entire player, and the fact that i have to switch from vertical-->diagonal-->horizontal constantly is quite annoying.

btw Nahlidge how do i tick the internal browser? i try the press it, but nothing happens (do i have to use integrated, or put the browser on the device?

Nahlidge
10-04-2011, 21:36
brian1234: actually I'm not sure, I used integrated and just tapped the 'internal browser' text.
it went from X Internal Browser to O Internal Browser, went into the Music UI by
clicking the 'Music' then hit one of the cornered arrows to bring up the browser.. looks okay.

But yeah, the constant moving of the player to see whats going on is a bit annoying. Overall
though, it's a very nice concept.

its blazing fast, switching between browser/music/main happens instantly.
like the main menu, like the music menu, dont like the lack of features and the browser.

briant1234
10-05-2011, 16:41
^yes its fast, but it lacks the customizability of lynx

i absolutely love it. the diagonal interface is actually far more comfortable to use than regular orientations and i would love to see similar UIs from other manufacturers in the future

This UI looks sweet! The browser is really fast to access and that's probably the only thing I'll miss a bit when I switch back to Kizune's. Don't think I can live without the extra functionality in Sense heh ^^

jms209
10-07-2011, 15:41
yeah it works pretty well, the integrated only has mainmenu and music .swf

the stand alone version has mainmenu, musc, and browser .swf

idk why but i'm using the stand alone

might keep the browser and music UCI to test it out.........i'll be keeping kizunes main menu though :D

10-08-2011, 11:54
Oh man, I love the music and browser UCI...I'll stick with Kizune's for the main menu though. Only complaints in my opinion (besides getting used to looking at it from a slant) is a tiny bit of customizability...mainly just because I'm not the biggest fan of the colour purple. A temporary change is nice from the inactivity of Kizune updates (no offence intended lol)

i like the way the file browser hugs the corners when scrolling :D

Kudos to the author!!!!!! Thanks a lot, since this application helps solve my main beef with J3, namely: infinitely inconvenient location of the mechanical volume buttons effectively preventing you from operating the the device with just one hand [mad]

This little wonder allows u to actually bypass it, instead using the touchscreen for volume adjustment - and the way it's is implemented here is almost perfect, since (unlike in Kizune's version) it's almost impossible to accidentally change tracks while trying to adjust volume, which appears to be a big problem with Sense, particularly if u want to regulate volume without looking at the screen (which I do VERY often)!

In contrast to Sense, the touchscreen volume regulator in ASUCI is positioned diagonally which is a perfect fit for NATURAL hand/finger movements, whereas to change tracks u have to move your hand UNnaturally, in a contrived and inconvenient manner, which is THE SECRET why it'd be very difficult to confuse the two functions (volume control/track change)!!
In other words, exactly what the doctor ordered! Thanks a load AGAIN!!
And good luck;)

PS: btw, I keep both Kuzine's and this UI app on my device - they fit perfectly together: first as mainmenu1, second as mainmenue2, while the third menu remains original! What in principle could be MORE convenient?! Honestly, I've no idea:D It's perfect, just perfect this way.

I really like this UCI, i wish I could combine the Sense Browser with the top part of the ASUCI browser lol...does anyone have an album art issue with ASUCI v2? it doesn't look as clear as kizune's..maybe i deleted something i shouldn't have. even the parental advisory is like a little blurry...any help greatly appreciated

Late to the party on this one. Long time Lynx, Leaf and Sense user. There's a neat simplicity to this UCI that I like a lot. Not having a whole stack of settings to play with is refreshing. It just works. The browser is high class. Only thing I miss is the Lynx Profile switcher.

just any of you have seen how this does looks?... dudes, this is not cool. not even one bit. if i would have wanted something like that, i would have bought for me a i9 or i10. ok, maybe from these things the browser could work, but that is all.

I found that the diagonal layout is very easy to use, it is almost perfect for single handed use, and it seems to minimize false swipes and gestures. Hold the device in the palm of your hand and then operate it with your thumb. What is the range of motion of your thumb? It's diagonal and this UCI matches that.

sorry, for my personal opinion, but this would make the j3 very hard to use, in real life experience... personally, i think that it would have been good on i9, but not on j3...

Is this all you need if you install it, ie you won't have to install sense, lynx or anything else? What is the music app like, can you create playlists etc?

It sounds cool. I've been waiting so long for a new faster music app. Has it got similar features to sense? What are the differences?

if you really want a fast music app, kizune's penguin will probably be available in a week or two- itl be really fast, and will have everything sense has, and more.
look up the cheetah thread for more info, keep in mind that it will take some time yet.
if you tried the cheetah alpha version, it came with penguin, so you have a pretty good idea what it will look like.

^^^^The files go in the system/flash ui folder

Wow what a stylish and very fast UI. Does anyone know what DMB is for? [blush]

avih
01-01-2013, 12:48
DMB is a feature that only works if you bought a J3 with DMB, which you didnt, as you dont know what it is.
