View Full Version : UCI working as intended?
Greetings(made a post here,the other one is on abi)
I have 2.26 Firmware on my J3
I installed Lynx(very good looking UCI) but I'm not pleased with one thing!
When I have to come back to Lynx desktop(home) from music,movie,picture,browse,etc the screen has a 0,5-0,8 sec BLACK SCREEN(I think its loading)
I installed Sense and Leaf also(though that might be the problem) nothing happened :(
There is a fix? I did something wrong?For me is very annoying,could other Lynx users clarify me

its normal, its because lynx is much more complex vs the original uci, as there are custom icons, widgets, etc. therefore, it will take longer to load. to speed it up, you can get rid of widgets and pages, or just deal with it. its not that bad, you will get used to it.

Alright!I will take off some of those widgets,setting one Desktop also

Noob Question:could I change that background(shown in attachment)?
Noob Question2:If there is a general UI,a music one,and a browser one made by Kizune,where are the rest Video,Picture,etc or should I look for other designers?

Kizune does his UCI encoding during his free time, but recently has been backed up with his studies. however he has mentioned in posts on other threads that he will make a 'Masterpiece Series' which will include a video UI, a new picture UI (Vision 2) as well as some of his current works (excluding Vision). He has also been working on making his own webpage from scratch. To be fair, his current works like Lynx, Leaf and Sense are of a very high standard that could rival or even outdo the UI designers for Cowon, so I am just patiently waiting to see his new works (like you and many others on this forum)

Didn't knew he's working(will work) on a Masterpiece UI,now that you've told me I cannot wait [yes] !!
I'm a noob at this moment with UIs...since j3 is my first serious player.First time dealing with UI,and many more things...

My current UI has:
Lynx for Mainmanu
Sense for Music
Vision for Images
Klaus For Video
Leaf for browsing
Noob question,whats the Launcher for?
Found in the UIC pack a folder full of Launcher UIs....
eg: Claw>launcher-30 ;launcher-40;launcher-50;etc
Klaus?Launcher;Launcher30

I see that when I "install" one,my player has a tend to go faster,enters music folders,video etc.It might be a Placebo effect,could someone clarify me please?
And if I'm right that Launcher is boosting the speed,what are the disadvantages? faster battery usage?

No its not a Placebo effect, the higher the launcher, the faster it runs at! :) The number depicts the frames per second (fps) that it runs at.
And if I'm right that Launcher is boosting the speed,what are the disadvantages? faster battery usage?
thats correct, but note that the higher fps will drain your battery faster.

i wouldnt bother with launchers. no noticable improvement with lynx/ other ucis, and it really has no advantage. the default cowon launcher (on the j3) is fine. i think that the launchers the uci pack were more oriented toward the older s9 firmwares, which had a sub-par launcher

i think that just the fact that kizune pretty much releases updates based on our user feedback is MUCH better than cowon, which may take months to release a small change
