i have a lot of songs that are all organized by cd and numbered but a lot of the song names include the artist name along with the cd name.. while i just want the title of the song...

any known programes that will allow me to just keep the song number and name while getting rid of the artist name and cd name?

Flash renamer and MP3-tag studio work great for me. Flash renamer does direct file renames, and mp3-tag studio does, you guessed it, tag work.

i thoroughly recomend tag and rename, it uses CDDB to get info on mp3s, writes the appropriate tags and renames files to any mask you choose.

Use foobar2000's masstagger and file operations option

MediaMonkey pretty much does everything.

foobar2000's masstagger or tagscanner will do the job.

for general file-renaming (not tag based), you could try wildcard renamer too.
