Claw UCI on J3 - Wallpaper just doesn't apply

Hi all,

Had a look around the relevant forums and couldn't see this problem posted anywhere.

Have just bought a J3 to replace my smashed S9 (it fell out of my pocket as I was exiting a cab and was promptly trodden on by someone). I've put Claw's UI on to the player and removed the laucher.swf file as per instructions and it seems to be working perfectly. I've fidded around with all the settings and even had no problems when editing J3 settings, which seems to freeze the player for other people.

Everything is fine BUT, the wallpapers just flat out refuse to appear on the screens. I'm viewing the pictures in FOLDER mode and pressing the wallpaper icon, clicking the menu I want and clicking it again to confirm, but it doesn't work, the green tick doesn't appear, nothing happens.

If I go into user settings and switch from PER SCREEN to DEFAULT mode, I can set a background wallpaper for the menu screen as per normal (the green tick comes up and everything's fine) but not if I try to use Claw's more versatile settings. This means I'm stuck with the default music UI background and cannot use the timeline feature.

Anyone else experiencing problems with Claw's wallpaper features on the J3, and more importantly know what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it?

Any help would be gretly appreciated.

I am having the same issue...So if someone did figure out this problem I would to figure it out. Had to replace S9 for J3 because it finally bricked and the brick settings would fix it temporary. But would love fix if sum! found 1. Also I can't get the PIN screen to work either. Would love the help.

There is lots of bugs in regards to Claw's UI on J3, it was meant for the S9 afterall. Don't expect any fixes or updates either, Claw left the scene long time ago. You're best bet is to go with Lynx and play with the wallpaper plugin.

No, the wallpaper, and some other settings, can't work on the J3. Claw's UI depends on its launcher.swf (think of it as a background layer to the UIs) to apply global settings like wallpaper. Since the UI was made before the J3, it is not compatible. Some of the settings will work but launcher settings most probably won't. The believe the PIN is also a launcher setting so that will not work either.

I have found a way to add Claw's Latest UCI to the J3 with the Claw's UCI Launcher...After looking around and so badly wanting to be able to custom my J3 like I had my old bricked S9, I found a solution.

The trick: I downloaded Claw's UCI, then I added the J3 theme for the S9-->(http://iaudiophile.net/forums/showthread.php?t=36156)to my J3. This way I got to keep any menu I want from the S9..I only have the mainmenu2 , so I am not sure what the result of trying to customize the other menu's of the J3 theme may turn out. I do use Claw's UCI mainmenu1 & mainmenu3 idea. So far so good. I am also using Claw's music UCI for full customability(<--if that is a word) I also have full control of locking my J3 because of the PIN lock screendoes work now. With a little troubleshooting and putting some puzzle pieces together, I am able to customize the J3 as much as I would like. (so far)

I got my J3 to operate 99% smoothly with Claw's UCI theme including the launcher. It took some guess work but I did get it to work. I did have to copy the S9 J3 theme settings menu and video player as well to keep the player operating smoothly. You have to use them because the normal settings menus and video of the J3 will function incoorectly with the launcher as we all know who have tried. For most, you will grab the concept, if not I can try my best to explain it in a more in depth instruction.
