I am new to Android-based devices.

Could another D3 user provide the necessary steps to install applications on the D3 once the .apk files are copied to the D3?

I have tried to interpret the information available from searches but they seem to assume access to the Android Market or being able to load a file manager from the Android Market first - neither available to the D3 user.

Help would be very grateful received.

Copy the *.apk file within the APK Folder on the D3.
Remove the USB Cable

The D3 should automatically detect the program file and will confirm installation. Select ok and you're done.

You'll find the newly installed program in the Programs drawer.

At anythingbutipod.com in their D3 forum it appears they've started to put apps for the D3 to download. You have to be registered and logged in to download them though. I've been banned from that site, so you'll have to test it on your own.

It's only a handful of apps, unfortunately - Market access is much more desirable and it's the second thing I plan to work on once my device arrives.
