Hi.

I'm very happy with my X7 but I'm experiencing gaps between track in albums that are gapesly (like live concerts).

How can I play those files gapesly without ripping the album in a single track?

It happens with FLAC files and Mp3s.

I'm using Media Monkey to sync.

I'll appreciate your help.

Is the X7 gapless??? If not, then there's no solution available, except the one you don't want - ripping the CD as a single track.

the details do mention it but doesn't say what Format it supports. maybe .OGG?

Edit: ok over reviewing i see no details of it supporting gapless other then with the Changelog from v2.06

I haven't experienced gapless playback problems. I have many albums with no gaps in between songs and I would definitely notice a problem if there was one, because I care about gapless playback very much. I use FLAC... I use EAC to rip the albums and dbpoweramp for conversion to FLAC.

Thank for all the replies...

Working hard to solve this issue I've found a solution but it's extremely weird for a device that cost so much money... "Keep the screen always on".

When the screen is On my X7 plays gapessly... when the screen is Off introduces a gap between tracks.

It makes me think that I have another kind of issue with my X7 and this thing with the gaps is only a symptom.

I'd upgrade the firmware 2.07 right out the box.

Any ideas.

Hmmm,....it does gapless,...I may need to investigate this device further now.

Hi everybody!

After a while playing my FLAC files gapesly through my X7 (with the screen on) I've noticed that the battery life gets reduced like I've been playing video... instead of music... :(

Also I've experiencing small interruptions in the playback randomly in the middle on a song... very few but I think that this shouldn't be.

This makes me think about the stability of the update that I've made.

Is there a way to restore the X7 to the "out of the box" configuration.

In advance thank you very much for you help...

I experience short pauses in music seldomly, but I didn't worry about it, because as far as I know, such shortcomings are in the nature of hard drives. I don't think there's a problem with firmware updates...

I've never had a pause or hiccup in my X5L... ever. It's not a hard drive issue.

I solved the problem with APE (normal cmpression) ripped with JetAudio. Everything else - even Wav - did't work. Try it

This issue can be solved with FLAC as well. I did quite huge research of possible settings which could improve this terrible X7 problem. If you use FLAC level 0, you will get gapless playback. Size difference between commonly used level 6 and level 0 is very small, therefore there is no significant impact to player capacity.
Trader's Little Helper has a mode to re-encode FLAC without necessity to manualy extract FLAC to WAV and encode back to FLAC level 0.
Gapless playback is very important for me, therefore I was very frustrated when I realised that this feature is not supported by X7. That's something I wouldn't expect from such device and such manufacturer [no]. Fortunately, FLAC level 0 saved my day [thumbsup].
