went on to www.minidisc.com.au to check out what was new and came across the X7.

Having just brough the J3 a couple of months ago I was keen to see what this was.

Its availble for 349 AUD for 120 GIG and 399 for 160 GIG.

Cant find it on this site , was wondering if anyone has had a hands on with it.
Doesnt look as sleek as the previous cowon products.

Yeah the X7 doenst seem to have the sleekness of previous Cowons , looks almost retro design. I like the space on it though , 120GB is alot.

im still not understanding why cowon keeps choosing to not include wifi. my x5 has been dead and i wanted the x7 to be its replacement but wifi would be nice.

Cowon seems to aviod Wifi in most of there items apart from the stupidly overpriced Q5W and P5 which has never seen the light of day out of S.Korea

The X7 is due into Australia by the end of this month, there are a few websites that have them on Pre Sale. One being trusty minidisc.com.au and the other being haldexdirect.com.au Haldex Direct is offering upto $50.00 off if you trade in your working X5, I am not sure if it is worth it but I won't need my X5 after I get my X7 so maybe the extra discount will help! They must be going to use them for parts I guess!

Hey...just got my X7 four days ago. I like the retro design. Not bad in todays sleek market. Some will not take to it but I did after having it a few days.

I am sure I am alone in this one!
But, I did not want wifi on my mp3 player or media device. I got laptops, desktops all over the house, along with ipod touch. Wifi drains battery, from my experience anyway. I wanted a music and movie player that holds lots of media, battery last long time and a screen in which watching a movie in bed was pleasurable.
X7 gave me everything I had been looking for the past few years.
I can see why others would want the wifi though, i didn't want the distraction from my music/movies. :)

Yeah the retro design is intentional. I actually love it, it fits good in your hand and a nice change in design if you like this sort of thing in which I did. I am sure many will not like the retro, I did after holding it in hand.
