So my F2 is completely dead! I had a system crash while the player was mounted and had to do a hard reboot. The player/disk was corrupted when I remounted it, so I reformatted and then reinstalled the firmware (ver 1.14... I think). Then unmounted the player and started it up.

First time it started OK, however, on the second restart it died... the screen flickered, and then blank. I have not been able to get the player to start or any operating system to recognise/detect the player since. None of the attempts to get it mounted (i.e. holding buttons/reset/etc while plugging it into a USB port) have worked... it's dead!

So anyway, it annoys me to have 4GB of portable player being unhelpful and unusable so I was thinking about opening it up and checking out the chip and see if I can fool around with it while I connect the player to a USB port and get it detected.

Anyone tried this, and or, have any experience with opening up and F2...?

Cheers.
