hi
i wasn't able to find out whether the m3 is able to play a playlist or a directory (with it's subdirectories) random or not
i would like the m3 to play everything on it in shuffle mode but im't not shure if it's possible

ps: my m3 should arrive today or tomorrow =)

Shuffle mode is possible! So don't you worry! ;)

Cool, that's great the M3 turns out more and more to be the perfect player for me :)

Playlists, one directory, directory with subdirectories. Yep.

A couple of things I haven't figured out. For some reason, if I just let it play in random for a while without touching it to change volume or skip songs, it'll stop on its own too early. Way before it's run out of songs.

The other thing is, I can't start it with subdirectories boundary unless there's at least one song in the directory that contains all those subdirectories.

I dunno, I have always know the option as shuffle... :D

I recognize the problem of lonechicken. Just one question though, did you use the random option in combination with the repeat option?

For the purpose of this player, I think shuffle and random mean the same. :) I think shuffle usually is the cheapo method in which a song can keep coming up once in a while (like in winamp), while random is like how a real CD player does it, in which every song is played once and only once in random order. I think the "shuffle" in the M3 is the good/latter way, but I've only had it a few days so I don't know for sure.

No, repeat is off. Would turning it on keep the player playing forever but make it do shuffling the cheapo way?

I don't really know, actually. I have so many songs on my M3 that I will never know if it will tun out to be that way.

If you explain shuffle in the cheapo way, I guess in combination with repeat you may encouter some songs being played twice. Another option is that it first plays the full list of mp3s before repeating a track again, or is this too intelligent for such a small device, LOL?

All I'm saying is that I just don't know...

When on shuffle, I do encouter some songs being played more than others. Or maybe that is just my mind...
