Hi!

I got my J3 a couple days ago, so happy :)

Anyways, regarding uci/ui changing:

After a couple tries I got nw's H2O beta UCI working, and I'm about to see if NSX's upcoming UCI has any alphas/betas yet, and try that too. The problem though, is from the stock UI [with no UCIs] I'm able to swap between icons, list and widget modes for UIs, but now that the J3 boots into H20, I can't get it to change (I know I can do it from the computer by deleting the h20 file [blush]).

Could someone tell me how to change from UCIs to stock UI from the player, if its possible?

EDIT: Ah also, Aero VTX didn't work with my J3, all the icons disappeared and random stuff happened [only visually, no files affected]...Is that normal since it's an S9 UCI after all? xD.

Thanks,
-justin

It depends of the UCI. For example the pre-alpha version of H2O UI doesn't have any UI selector :D

And once you've applied an UCI on your J3 it will replace one of the 3 stock UIs according to the filename of the .swf (mainmenu[1 or 2 or 3].swf )

Delete Aero VTX, boot your J3, and than plug it in the computer and try Aero VTX again...

Also, changing between UCI (User Created Interface's) depends on the UCI. Almost every UCI (except some beta's) support this. In H20, you have to tap the left button on the bar, so the infoscreen is opened. In the bottom bar, tap the right button (the 3 rectangulars), than choose mainmenu 1, 2 or 3.

Okay thanks! :D

Tried it out just then, works fine. Since Aero VTX was designed for S9, it might be missing some apps and stuff for J3? :S I'll stick with stock UI/H20 for now :D

edit: Say, in nw's H20 'settings' menu, at the bottom there's a button that says "Settings >" except it doesn't do anything =S is it supposed to, or is it just currently not implemented due to it being a beta?

Thanks,
-Justin

In the newest Beta, there is a settings screen. You should update your H20 version... (DNW updates his UCI's every 3 days.. :P

NSX's upcoming UCI has any alphas/betas yet, and try that too.

Thanks for you intrest [thumbsup] but ill have my J3 probably by the end of the month, so expect an alpha around...September 1st-6th.

Right now me and sameer are working on the design for the info bars and lock screen, i was gonna use 'nws Aero lock screen, but ive decided i can have a successful UCI riding of some elses Lock Screen...Also, this UCI will include a Music Ui, Video Ui, Radio Ui, Browser (Maybe), Picture Viewer (also a Maybe), Flash Browser, .txt reader, and Recorder UI. but they will be released one step at a time (mainmenu first obviously) and then in a full pack when they are done.

Also, ill be working with tirim4 and Coding his HD Music UI

Cool, thanks =) Looking forward to it! ^^

I like the look of your latest draft of your UCI on your website, looks nice and simple :D

Offtopic: On H20's UCI, does anyone know why when you're in any kind of menu during video playback the screen has this grainy filter =S, or is that intended? Also, does UCI detract from the battery life in any way? Haha.

Thanks,
-justin

You can, in fact, change to your stock UI whilst using the H2O UCI. In the Main menu of H2O, choose the bottom left option. It looks like 3 bars on top of each other. This brings up settings, to which you can modify a number of items currently. Here, the bottom right has an icon which looks like 3 bars standing next to each other. Click it and 1, 2, 3 are brought up.

I *really* don't like menu 1 on the stock, so naturally I zapped that one and can choose menu 2 or 3 from that menu.

I have been using H2O exclusively since it came out and have pretty much figured out every nook and cranny that it currently delves into. However I don't watch movies on my player, so I'm not sure what's going on there. Perhaps it's a bug to be reported.

Someone pointed that out a couple messages earlier, but thanks still ^^

Yeah, I quite like H20 despite it being currently unfinished. When you say stock UI 1, do you mean the one with just icons? or the widget one, or the 'list' one xD

does anybody knows if your battery depletes faster when you use UCI?
Back in the d2, i could have swore that flash UI did consume the battery faster and hence you had to charge it more often.

if a UI uses lots of flash animations which would require more processing, then in the end effect the cpu would have a higher usage, so yes. I dont however know how much of the power that takes away from the general battery capacity. if you are in the ui for lots of time then ofc it makes a difference, but I for example stay in the music part most of the time and dont even bother to have a uci ^^
