Hi,

Got my J3 yesterday (after getting some v useful advice pre-purchase from these forums! Thanks!).

Quickie: is it possible to re-calibrate the touchscreen? I find that I'm constantly selecting items lower on the screen than the one I was aiming for. Using the 'notepad' application, I have proved that it's slightly out of calibration by aiming for one point on the screen, and seeing where the resulting dot appears.

Cheers,

I don't think you can recalibrate capacitive touch screens manually (open to correction on this)

If your device is faulty you might need to consider getting it replaced, but wait for other replies just in case I'm mistaken.

I thought it seemed low to start with, too. Try giving it some time and see if you get used to it.

Capacitive touchscreens don't need recalibration because they stay accurate all the time.

Also, to me it makes more sense that the dot appears where your finger actually is (I checked it, the dot appears exactly in the middle of the spot I touched) instead of a bit above of it (like some people expect).

update the firmware, and try it again. if it is defective get it replaced. it may be other devices fault, because some other devices are using worse touch, and they are out of calibration and you get used to it, and now you think that j3 is not calibrated. in fact, i owned 2 j3's and both were perfectly calibrated. also, as no one ever complained of touch problems, you might just have been used to a defective touch device, instead of j3 being defective.

best replace it and see which one is defective. firmware opdate may work as well.

look at it from the side when you touch it. Chances are that your finger touches in a place different than where you think it is. Other wise replace it.

Did you try using your pinky for the touch screen? [laugh]
I found that easier in the beginning
