View Full Version : J3's SD Integration and USB connecting slot?

Hi!

I have 2 questions :)

1. Does the J3 integrate files on the microSD card? Most importantly, does it integrate music and video files into the existing library.

2. I'm aware that the J3 comes with a 20-pin to USB cable to connect it to a PC. But, is there any slot on the J3 that allows the use of mini-usb cables? I'm not particularly fond of this 20-pin cable idea xD.

Thanks in advance,
-justin

Put all your questions in one thread...dont make different threads just to ask questions, just make a thread called "J3 Questions" or something.

But anyway, welcome to the forum. [laugh]

You will probably want to check in every once in a while for new UCI's to use on your J3 (No Uci's have been made specifically for the J3 yet [although most s9 ones work on it], but im working on one and so is 'nw.)

The J3 does integrate files from the SD card into the existing library, though if you're searching by folder instead of by tag, you'll have to follow a different path. And as far as I'm aware, there's no way to use a micro-USB cable.

Okay thanks for the replies! Just as a question, are 20-pin usb-cables hard to come across :S I'm just worried that if I damage mine beyond use, I won't be able to get my hands on another one.

Excuse my lack of knowledge, but would UCI happen to stand for 'User Created Interface?' xD, just a random guess.

If so, okay, I'll be sure to check for new UCI's often =D From videos I've looked up, the default ones look pretty useable, probably could be better though xD. Would Rockbox happen to work with the J3?

Thanks,
-justin

Yes UCI is user created interface, and here (http://www.amazon.com/COWON-USB-Cable-for-S9/dp/B001PNX3VO) is a usb cable for the s9/j3.

Lots of the S9 UCIs will work on the J3, but I don't have a J3 and so I have no idea which ones do and which don't.

No, Rockbox won't work on the J3, unfortunately. The most recent players they've ported it to are the Sansa Fuze (stable), and the Cowon D2 (unstable).

EDIT: NSX beat me to some stuff.

Actually, after seeing that, I think I've seen some lying around in my house somewhere before, xD.

Ah, that should be fine, the J3 interface looked pretty good anyways =D haha

Thanks!
